My birthday was on Friday and as in true Kristine style, I celebrated all weekend long!
My company rocks and my department spoiled me with snacks, desserts and presents as well as a delicious lunch at one of my favorite lunch spots, Seasons 52, on Friday. I felt slightly better about my food choices because the majority of the menu at Seasons are under 500 calories. Win-win.
Friday night, a couple of my girlfriends and I went for sushi. I took a chance and tried out a place that was recommended and it was fantastic. We had some drinks, some rolls and good conversation.
Saturday, my husband and I went to New York City and stayed overnight at Wellington Hotel. I had won a one night stay and decided to use it for my birthday! We were shocked to walk into a huge one bedroom suite! I had no idea; I just figured it would be a regular hotel room, but it was a nice upgrade!
My husband made dinner reservations at Porter House New York which overlooks Columbus Circle and Central Park. The food was AMAZING! Honestly, I am still thinking about the filet mignon I had that night. It was the best I have ever had in my entire life. THE BEST. My husband will probably chuckle reading this because he has taken me to a fair share of steakhouses on Long Island, but I’m telling you… my mouth is watering just thinking about it.
After dinner, we met up with some of his friends at Flatiron Hall for some more drinks. His good friend Matt was also out celebrating his birthday. The place was nice and we secured a great spot near the window. My husband’s friends are all from high school, and it was great to listen to stories from that time. I’m always laughing when I’m hanging out with them. They are such great guys.
I had a fantastic birthday weekend and I am looking forward to the spring and some warmer weather!
